Midwest Power Equipment & GRP Motorsports Boost May 27 Purse at Red Cedar Speedway!
With the first-ever appearance of the UMSS winged sprint car division scheduled for Friday night May 27 at the Red Cedar Speedway, Midwest Power Equipment and GRP Motorsports have teamed up to add some money to the winged sprint car feature race. With Midwest Power Equipment contributing $1,500 and GRP Motorsports kicking in $650, the top six finishing positions at Menomonie on May 27 will pay as follows: 1) $2,000, 2) $1000, 3) $700, 4) $500, 5) $400, 6) $300. Finishing positions 7 on back will be the normal UMSS payout.
"This should help generate some additional interest for our inaugural appearance at Red Cedar," stated Greg Parent from GRP Motorsports. There have been a few inquiries from some teams that normally do not compete with the UMSS on a regular basis regarding this event, so a couple of series sponsors have stepped up to the plate and sweetened the pot a bit. The UMSS races the next night at the Rice Lake Speedway, as that event is currently scheduled to pay $1,000 to win thanks to some help from GRP Motorsports.
At both Red Cedar Speedway and Rice Lake Speedway, the UMSS Traditional sprints will join with the winged sprint division and run a full program of their own. This will make for plenty of sprint car racing and present fans with a variety of both winged and non-winged sprint cars in action. The UMSS is planning to run its usual race format with heat races, Challenge races and a 25 lap feature for the winged sprints while the Traditional sprints will run heat races and a 25 lap feature each night.
It doesn't get much better than that sprint car fans, two full shows with two exciting sprint car divisions racing at a couple of western Wisconsin tracks located within an hour drive of each other to kick off the big Memorial Day holiday weekend May 27-28.
