Sodus, NY – The 2018 SuperGen Products with Champion Power Equipment CRSA Sprint Car Series season is closing in on the late summer and as the weather heats up, so are the points races. In addition to the overall series points race there are four mini-series titles on the line as the series heads into August.
The overall points chase shows defending series champion Jeff Trombley on top by 25 points over opening day winner Thomas Radivoy. Tyler Jashembowski sits third in the points right now, 99 points behind Trombley and 74 behind fellow young gun Radivoy. Emily VanInwegen places in the fourth position just five points behind Jashembowski and Justin Mills is fifth, 37 points behind VanInwegen.
Jesse Pruchnik sits in sixth with Jerry Sehn, Sydney Prince, Darryl Ruggles and Dana Wagner rounding out the top ten.
In the ten events held to date, Trombley leads the way with three A-Main wins while Ruggles has two. A total of five drivers have one win, those drivers include – Radivoy, Jashembowski, Matt Tanner, Alysha Bay and Christian Rumsey.
After two events the Hard Clay Challenge Mini-Series standings shows Radivoy on top over Prince by three points. Rumsey sits third, eight points back while Scott Flammer (-13) and Trombley (-18) round out the top five. Radivoy and Rumsey split the two completed events. Two more events remain in the mini-series (August 25th, October 20th).
The Algonkin Motel Mini-Series has one event completed with two lost to cancellations. The standings show Jashembowski on top by six points over Wagner and seven points over Dalton Herrick. Prince (-10) and Trombley (-12) round out the top five with one event remaining (Afton – October 5th). Jashembowski has the one event win.
The Kennedy’s Towing Northway 90 Challenge Mini-Series standings shows Trombley on top by 19 points over Sehn and Radivoy (-22). Emily VanInwegen is also 22 points behind Trombley while Mills is 27 points back in fifth. Trombley and Tanner have mini-series event wins. The mini-series has two events remaining at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway (September 14th) and Fonda Speedway (September 15th). One event was lost due to Mother Nature (April 28th – Fonda).
Darryl Ruggles sits on top of the Land of Legends/CRSA Challenge Series standings with one event remaining on August 18th at the Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua. Ruggles holds a 48 point lead over Radivoy and 54 over Trombley. Brandyn Griffin sits fourth (-57) while Sehn and Dan Bennett are fifth, 59 points back. A total of four events have been held in the mini-series with Ruggles claiming two wins and Trombley and Bay each one.
