“INDIANA SPRINT WEEK” AWARDS INCLUDE JOSH BURTON TRIBUTE

Long-time USAC supporters Buck & Betty Rice of Grand Saline, Tex., Bill Wever of Bloomington, Ind. and John and Terri Youngs of Loogootee, Ind. have again joined the “Indiana Sprint Week” bandwagon, offering cash and product awards for series participants.

Wever, whose B & W Auto Mart is located on Route 45 in Bloomington, will present the B & W Auto Mart “Josh Burton Hard Charger Award” to the driver accumulating the most position advances during the seven-race Indiana Sprint Week feature events. The award honors the memory of the driver who competed in Indiana Sprint Week in 2012 but lost his life in a racing accident in May. The $404.04 check which accompanies the award is in honor of Burton’s familiar car number, 04.

The Rices are posting a $100 cash award each night for the fastest qualifier, which should create competition for new track records.

The Youngs will again, for the sixth straight year, present the Indiana Sprint Week winning car owner with a $3,500 Bridgeport Rocker crafted from curly cherry wood donated by Don & Lisa Kreischer of northern Ohio. The rocker represents over 200 hours of craftsmanship.

The 26th “Indiana Sprint Week” covers seven races between this Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 20. Tracks involved include Gas City, Kokomo, Lawrenceburg, Terre Haute, Lincoln Park in Putnamville, Bloomington and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt.

USAC, its participating race tracks and its member participants are appreciative of the sponsorships these supporters have continued to provide and their contributions will enhance what already promises to be a spectacular Indiana Sprint Week experience for all.
