Bret Ervin Racing Bound for Marysville
Saturday night, the Bret Ervin Racing team and driver Andy Gregg will invade Marysville Raceway Park for the Sherm Toller Memorial.
Though it has been a while since the 2011 season has gotten underway, it has already had a few ups and downs.
In the season opener in Tulare, Andy was running in the top 10 midway through the race before he spun to avoid contact with a stalled car on the speedway.
He then followed that up with a very strong early showing in Hanford as the Ervin Sales/BR Motorports/King Racing Products sprinter fell victim to the rough racing surface and got upside down while running fifth.
After this lengthy hiatus Gregg is very antsy to get back behind the wheel of the 7 Industries/Wheel Vintiques/Autism Awareness No. 53.
“We made both shows with the ASCS guys and learned some good things about our new Eagle chassis, so I am very excited to get back in the seat,” said Gregg who has previously picked up a Civil War feature event at the speedway.
With no other racing scheduled in the area, Saturday’s show at Marysville Raceway Park should in fact be star studded with a capacity crowd.
“This year our season got off to a very early start, but then unfortunately we’ve had to wait a month to get going again, and it’s been a very long month,” Gregg noted. “This is a great oppurtunity for us to get some more laps at the track before we come back with the King of the West Series later in April.”
Racing is set to get underway at 6:30 at the racy quarter mile on Saturday night.
