Tulsa Oklahoma (August 26, 2014) – The Oil Capital Racing Series will produce its second ever “Non-Wing” sprint car champion at the Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway in Caney Kansas this Saturday night as OCRS will conduct its final non-wing sprint car event of the season during this weekends Labor Day holiday. Last year, Harli White took OCRS non-wing championship honors.

With a total of 95 points available per event, 13 drivers are mathematically in play for the 2014 non-wing championship. Danny Smith and Chance Morton are the drivers in the best positions of the pack with Smith entering this weekend’s race with a scant 183-179 point margin over the sophomore driver Morton.

The OCRS non-wing champion will earn a free driving instruction package provided by the Jimmy Sills School of Open Wheel Racing. Sills operates his racing school in Marysville California. In addition, the victorious wingless kingpin will pocket a $300 certificate from M&W Aluminum Products and everyone’s favorite prize……CASH!

Smith also finds himself in a massive dogfight with Caney native Andrew Deal for the overall OCRS title. Smith failed to finish last weeks main event at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway while Deal scored valuable championship points with a third place finish. These two high profile OCRS pilots are just 20 points apart in their quest for OCRS supremacy (1280 – 1260).

Brian McClelland earned his second OCRS feature win of the season at SOS last Saturday and will look to go back to back at Caney this week. McClelland is quite capable of winning without a wing as he took checkers in a non-wing OCRS race last season.

The OCRS non-wing portion of the racing schedule is supported by a variety of sponsors that have been a tremendous asset to the series. These sponsors include:

AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Tulsa OK.
Jimmy Sills School of Open Wheel Racing / Marysville CA.
Boyd’s Racing Engines / Norman OK.
Eagle Motorsports / Lincoln NE.
Grand Prix Auto Center / Tulsa OK.
Maxwell Oil / Tulsa OK.
Morton Excavating / Coweta OK.
Mud-X / Oklahoma City OK
R and M Race Trailers / Cushing OK.
Shock Doc / Tulsa / OK
Smiley’s Racing Products / Dallas TX.

There will be a full night of energized action, mud slinging and ferocious wheel banging non-wing sprint car racing this Saturday at Caney. This will be a must see event to witness who will reign supreme in wingless competition.
