Tulsa Oklahoma (July 9, 2013) – Those wild and often insane open wheel dirt track warriors of the Oil Capital Racing Series will make their second appearance of the season at the Salina Highbanks Speedway this Saturday night. As is customary when OCRS hits the ultra high-banked dirt track, expect to see the fastest speeds these specially designed racing machines produce all season on the OCRS circuit at the Highbanks. Lindsay Oklahoma’s Harli White will look to win her second event in a row at Salina and on tour as the 18 year old phenom won at the Highbanks last May as well as the last OCRS event last weekend. She won the May race by storming from the 12th starting position. At the time, White won from the sixth row for the second time in the season. At the Osage Casino – Caney Valley Speedway last week, White won again from the sixth row showing the open wheel world that if your car is right and if you have the talent to wheel a 1500-pound, high-powered racing machine, you can accomplish the task at hand.
White comes into the Highbanks as the series point leader, the only such leader the series has had since event number one and the only female point leader the series has ever had. A seasoned veteran in Sapulpa’s Danny Smith is keeping White in sight by sitting in second just 79 points behind (1077-998). White leads the series with five feature wins while Smith has scored twice. Brodix / PM-Pro rookie of the year candidate and rookie leader Kade Morton, sits third in the overall standings with 840 points while Johnny ‘Hotrod’ Kent is fourth with 827 markers and Brian ‘B=Mac’ McClelland rounds out the top five with 730 points.
Race fans that have attended a racing event at the Highbanks know all to well what a great, well run facility the Highbanks is. For those who have not made a trek to the Highbanks that overlooks the Hudson Lake in the horizon, you will not only find the most breathtaking banking the track has in its corners, you will also find the amenities to be of the highest qualities as well.
Fans can choose to view the racing from the general grandstand bleachers, the upper deck beer garden, the full service “Finish Line Bar & Grill” or from one of the special VIP suites. The Highbanks has it all! (Contact the racetrack for VIP suite availability prior to arriving).
