Jordan Goldesberry Dominates to Secure First Win of the Season at Mississippi Thunder Speedway
By: Madeline Ruh

July 25th, 2025: The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints series brought 30 sprint cars to the Mississippi Thunder Speedway for a night of hot racing action for their only appearance in 2025.

The night began with the Hepfner Racing Products / Honest Abe Roofing Rookie of the Year contender, Corbin Gurley, going quicktime in Box3 Media Hot Laps. Creed Kemenah, making his IRA Sprint Car Series debut would set the fastest time in Carbon Safety Technologies Qualifying to earn the Hi-Plains Building Division Quicktime Award.

Heat race winners included two-time 2025 winner Joel Myers Jr. in the Fox Lake Harbor Presents Allstar Performance Heat #1, Rookie of the Year Contender Corbin Gurley in the BodyCraft of Antioch Presents Behling Racing Heat #2, and two-time IRA Champion Scotty Neitzel in the Game Day Men’s Health Presents Engler Machine & Tool Heat #3.

The Horizon Whiskey Dash Draw saw Brooke Tatnell and Jordan Goldesberry secure pole positions. Jake Neuman won Optimum Electric Dash 1, and Jordan Goldesberry took Kristine Hartmann-Pleasant View Realty Dash 2. The Behling Racing Equipment B-Main was won by Austin Hartmann.

Two Illinois drivers, Jordan Goldesberry and Jake Neuman, led the Wisconsin-based series to the green flag. Goldesberry immediately took the lead, riding the cushion out of turns one and two and down the backstretch. Meanwhile, Danny Schlafer slid past Neuman for second place, as other drivers danced for positions behind them. Joel Myers Jr., starting in eighth, quickly advanced to fifth, while Corbin Gurley continued to have his best night of the 2025 season, moving up to sixth.

The race was interrupted by a red flag for Robbie Pribnow in the Wiese Trucking 45, who collided with a tractor tire. Fortunately, he was able to walk away. At the restart, the top five were Goldesberry, Schlafer, Neuman, Myers Jr., and Kemenah. Gurley capitalized on the restart to power around Kemenah for fifth, and Neuman reclaimed second from Schlafer.

A caution flag with 10 laps to go for Pokorski and Guilford ended their nights early. On the next restart, Kemenah and Gurley both advanced positions. The laps ticked down as the race-long leader, Goldesberry, pulled away from the pack.

With five laps remaining, Myers Jr. began to close the gap on Neuman, finding traction on the bottom of the track. Myers Jr. attempted multiple sliders, but Neuman, sticking to the top, powered around him each time. On the final lap, Myers Jr. made one last attempt in turns three and four. However, Goldesberry, who led all 30 laps, held on to secure his first win of the 2025 season. Myers Jr. made a last-lap pass for second, while Neuman settled for third.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints will be back in action tonight at Beaver Dam Raceway and on Sunday at Angell Park Speedway. You can watch the races live on FloRacing.
