BALOG SIMPLY SUPERIOR AT NORTHERN NATIONALS

BALOG SIMPLY SUPERIOR AT NORTHERN NATIONALS
Superior, WI The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series make their annual longest tow each year as they headline the Northern Nationals at Amsoil Speedway in Superior, WI. When the checkered flag waved it was Bill Balog that was superior.
Ben Schmidt led from first six laps before fourth running Davey Heskin spun and was hit by Steve Meyer. Heskin would be done for the night, while Meyer changed a tire and restarted at the tail. Balog made his move to the lead a few laps later and truly set sail putting in a dominating performance in front of the standing room only crowd. Schmidt would continue in second while a tremendous battle for positions throughout the top ten were hotly contested.
Balog checked out as the race went all green for the final 24 laps. Schmidt had a very solid run again coming home second just a car length ahead of Scotty Neitzel who edged Scotty Thiel in a great battle for third. Blake Nimee charged to a solid fifth place finish over a fading Jeremy Schultz who ran much of the race in third. Scott Uttech came home a strong seventh holding off a determined Kyle Marten, whileKris Spitz and Wayme Modjeski rounded out the top ten.
Heskin set fast time overthe 20 car field, with hat wins going to Meyer, Thiel, and Nimee.
