Justin Whittall qualifies for Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (May 29, 2018) - Justin Whittall’s weekend started on a low note, but ended positively, qualifying for the $10,000-to-win, Bob Weikert Memorial finale at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on Sunday, May 27. Whittall, a full-time United Racing Club (URC) competitor with a limited number of 410c.i. starts scheduled for 2018, finished 16th during the prestigious program, bettering his Saturday evening performance from the Bob Weikert Memorial preliminary program (DNQ).

Whittall kicked-off his Memorial Day weekend campaign with URC competition at Big Diamond Speedway in Minersville, Pa., on Friday, May 25. Unfortunately for Whittall, his stretch of URC bad luck continued, forced to retire early after being caught up in an on-track incident during the evening’s main event; Whittall was scored 17th.

“The weekend didn’t start out too well, but it ended on a solid note. It’s tough to complain about qualifying for the Bob Weikert Memorial,” Justin Whittall said, driver of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearings/No. 67 sprint car. “Entering events like that against that level of competition is only going to benefit us as a team. Our bad luck has been outweighing our good luck lately, but hopefully we’ll be able to change that during the next few weeks.”

With URC competition off until Saturday, June 9, Justin Whittall will spend the upcoming weekend back at the “Speed Palace” in Port Royal, this time joining the 410c.i. regulars for weekly competition.
