Sides Lands Just Outside Top 10 at Lawton Speedway and Devil’s Bowl Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (Nov. 3, 2021) – Jason Sides captured a pair of top-15 results last weekend when the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series invaded Oklahoma and Texas.

Sides qualified seventh quickest and finished where he started – third – in a heat race on Friday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla. He then spent all but the final lap of the main event inside the top 10 before ending 11th.

The team ventured to Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday for the Texas Outlaw Nationals. Sides timed in 12th quickest, placed fourth in a heat race and duked it out just outside of the top 10 throughout the A Main. His 13th-place outing was the team’s 20th top 15 this year.

“We wanted a couple of top 10s and we battled for a top 10 both nights, but just came up a little short,” he said. “Hopefully we can take that next step forward this weekend in North Carolina to end the season on a positive.”

The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., hosts the NGK NTK World of Outlaws World Finals this weekend. Teams will qualify for the Friday and Saturday racing programs on Thursday.

“It’s a unique format with qualifying on Thursday so it’s important that you are on point from the first time you hit the track,” Sides said. “We’ve had some good runs at that track, but also some struggles when the qualifying night doesn’t go as planned. The goal is to lay down a good lap in both sessions so we can be in contention for a top 10 on Friday and Saturday.”

Oct. 30 – Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas – Qualifying: 12; Heat race: 4 (4); Feature: 13 (12).
