Inside Line Promotions – CALISTOGA, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2018) – It’s been a long journey home for Kraig Kinser, who left California following last Saturday’s Wine Country Outlaw Showdown finale.

It took approximately 35 hours to drive from the West Coast to Indiana, where Kinser will spend a couple of days before returning to World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series action this Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the BeFour the Crowns Showdown and Saturday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., during the Commonwealth Clash.

“It’s been a long drive across the country,” he said. “I’m looking forward to getting back to the Midwest and racing on some bigger, wider tracks.”

Kinser wrapped up the West Coast Swing with a trio of Outlaws races last week in California. The action began on Wednesday at Placerville Speedway in Placerville with the 49er Gold Rush Classic presented by Riebes NAPA.

Kinser timed in 21st quickest and placed seventh in a heat race. His night took a turn for the worse when he was drilling in the nose by a rock or dirt clod while watching another heat race.

“Dealing with that was a distraction,” he said. “It was a pretty big hole.”

Kinser jumped the cushion on the opening lap of the Last Chance Showdown and he dropped a few positions before rebounding to end the race fifth, which was one position shy of transferring into the A Main.

The team then ventured to Calistoga Speedway for the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown. Kinser qualified 22nd quickest, placed eighth in a heat race and rallied from 22nd to 17th in the main event on Friday.

He improved his qualifying and heat race results on Saturday, timing in 15th quickest and ending sixth in the heat. The night was capped with a 19th-place result in the A Main.

“Qualifying bad makes for a tough weekend that’s for sure,” he said. “You can’t let that many quick cars start in front of you. It’s something we are working hard on improving and hopefully we’ll see more positive results this weekend at Eldora and Lernerville.”
