Ian Madsen 12th and 13th With Outlaws in Tulare, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA- Following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series to California, Ian Madsen and KCP Racing would record 12th and 13th place finishes to open up their trip in the Golden State at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway.

“We struggled a little in Tulare, CA, but we were able to put together a good run during Saturday’s finale and go from 21st to finish 12th,” Ian Madsen said.

Friday night at the high-banked facility, Madsen would time the Logan Contractors Supply Inc./Aspen Aire/Team Kline Electric backed No. 18 entry in 13th quickest before recording a third place finish in his heat race.

Lining up ninth in the feature event, a rough and tumble track on this night would make things interesting for the 35-lap race. Battling inside the Top-10 during much of the night, a couple of late restarts would plague Madsen and he would end up with a 13th place finish.

Returning to Thunderbowl Raceway on Saturday night, Madsen would time in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials. Getting collected by another driver on the start of his heat race, Madsen would end up not finishing the race, thus forcing him into the night’s Last Chance Showdown.

Picking up the win, the St. Marys, NSW driver would transfer into the feature event where he would grid the field from the 21st starting position. With the track wide and slick on this night, Madsen would begin working his way forward on the intimidating racetrack.

Grabbing a handful of spots in the first half of the race, rubber would begin going down on the speedway and action would quiet down. Able to sneak a few more positions, Madsen would cap his night off with a 12th place finish.

“This place can be tough on equipment, so to avoid the fray is good, and to move forward like we did on Saturday night is also good,” Madsen added. “We are looking forward to checking out Stockton this weekend in the weather allows it.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Team Kline Electric, Greenland Homes, Team Excavating, TammyHeckart.com, Finer Cuts Lawn and Landscape, Des Moines Area Roofing, Quality Traffic Control, Bergen Paulsen, Coverage Direct, Monarch’s, and Revolution Race Gear for their support this season.
