Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (July 14, 2015) – Kevin Swindell will make his season debut with Bernie Stuebgen and the Indy Race Parts team this Friday and Saturday during the 32nd annual Kings Royal.
The duo delayed its first race together from last weekend until this week’s premier World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series doubleheader at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio.
“I’ve always enjoyed racing at Eldora,” Swindell said. “I feel like we’ll have a good car that will be competitive from the first green flag. We’ve proven we can run near the front the last couple of years, especially at Eldora.”
Swindell piloted the team to a fourth-place result during last season’s $50,000-to-win main event on the high-banked track. It tied his best Kings Royal result, which was first set in 2006.
“I think we would have been in contention for a podium finish last year, but the heim popped out of the bottom of the left rear shock midway through the main event,” he said. “However, it’s definitely a boost whenever you can get a top five against the best drivers in the country at one of the biggest events of the year.”
Swindell, who was last victorious at Eldora Speedway in 2013 during an NRA Sprint Invaders race, has only competed in half the number of races entering the Kings Royal this season compared to last year.
“It always helps the more races you run, but I don’t think it will necessarily hurt us this weekend,” he said. “Although I’ve only ran 10 races on dirt so far this season I’m confident I’ll get back into the swing of things quickly.”
