Inside Line Promotions – SPENCER, Iowa – There is an added electricity whenever the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races with a fair in the background.

That will be the scene on Friday, Sept. 12, as the premier sprint car series tackles Clay County Fair Speedway for The Arnold Motor Supply Shootout with associate sponsors Bob’s Bike Shop, H&N Chevrolet, Vanderhaag’s and Justice Brothers.

“It definitely adds to the show,” Donny Schatz said. “Racing with the Outlaws you feel like you are a carnie. When you have the circus there it makes you feel like you fit right in. It’s neat to have the fair setting. There’s more going on than just racing. It allows some of the teams to kick back and grab some fair food and relax.”

As neat as the atmosphere will be, Schatz is all business at the 3/8-mile track. He won the first two World of Outlaws events there as well as the past two. In fact, Schatz has been victorious in exactly half of the eight shows at Clay County Fair Speedway.

“We’ve done very good there,” he said. “It’s a place that’s been good to me. They always do a good job of getting the race track where it’s racy. I race with one of the best race teams that gets everything where it needs to be. We seem to have been in the right spot when we’re there.”

Jason Meyers, Jac Haudenschild, Craig Dollansky and Brad Sweet have also scored one win at the track.
