Inside Line Promotions – FERGUS FALLS, Minn. – The “Salute to the King” tour is set to invade I-94 Speedway on Saturday, June 21.

The tour honors 20-time World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series champion Steve Kinser as he embarks upon his final season of competing for the championship.

Although Kinser has only raced at I-94 Speedway once – when the premier sprint car series made its debut last season – he enjoyed the track.

“It’s another track that if it opens up nice, where you can get up top and race on the bottom, that’s a fun track to run on,” he said. “That’s the good part about running with the World of Outlaws. You see a lot of different tracks and you’ve got to learn to adjust to the tracks.”

Kinser and the rest of the Outlaws started from scratch a year ago when the series made its debut at I-94 Speedway. Despite a stormy week that made for ultra-fast track conditions, Kinser rallied from 11th to post a sixth-place result. He also garnered the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“It still has dirt on top of it and they all race the same,” he said.

David Gravel was victorious during the inaugural race when he led all 30 laps of the main event after winning the dash.
