Perricone's Kings Royal Turns Upside Down

Eldora Speedway and the Kings Royal crowd got their money's worth from Sammy Swindell taking the crown and the crowd seeing some big crashes. Jim Perricone and the J&B motorsports team found themselves going from hero to zero real fast. Kings Royal night the team finally had Jim hooked up and he was on the move through Heat 1 before a yellow was thrown. At the point of the yellow was thrown Jim was on the tail of Beau Stewart who braked hard and Jim clipped Stewarts left rear sending the car into a series of barrel rolls down the backstretch. The car ended up upside down and after a quick check of Jim the car was rolled over and he exited with a roar from the crowd. This was not how the J&B motorsports team wanted to end their Eldora experience but as nasty as the flip was the car fared better than expected. Jim sustained only bruising and was sore from the experience. Jim quoted "the butlerbuilt seat in the car was amazing how it worked in keeping my body braced in the appropriate places and saved me from any serious injury". The chassis itself was a perfect example of why the team supports J&J Auto Racing. The car frame never cracked or split. The chassis was bent and flexed as it should on taking impacts like it did mentioned by crew chief Bob Thompson. Team would also like to thank Bell Racing USA for the great safety equipment that let Jim walk away from this crash. The team is receiving their new car from J&J Auto Racing and will be back in action in August.
