Crate Late Models Return to Ransomville July 9

RANSOMVILLE, NY (July 1, 2021) On Friday, July 9, the RUSH sanctioned Crate Late Models will invade the Ransomville Speedway for “The Ones That Left Us to Early 30”. The race was put together in efforts spearheaded by racer TJ Downs to honor his mother Violet, who passed away in December 2020.

Nearly $3,000 has been added to the purse for the Crate Late Models, including contingencies and lap money. “I cannot thank everyone enough that has donated to the race, it means a lot for the entire racing family to help out and make this possible,” TJ Downs said.

“The Ones That Left Us to Early 30” will be paying $1,250 to win, $900 for second, $700 for third, $500 for fourth, and $400 for fifth. Tenth place will pay $250, and it will be $150 to take the green flag in the feature event. Close Racing Supply will be paying each heat winner $50. The Hard Charger Award is $50 from Wicked Kool Fabrication, and the Hard Luck Award is $50 from Darrell’s Auto Service.

The event for the RUSH Crate Late Models is part of the Pace Performance Weekly Racing Series. Drivers will be able to gain weekly points for the RUSH Pace Performance Weekly Series championship. Ransomville Speedway has had two different winners in two appearances by the Crate Late Models. In 2019, “Mr. Excitement” Jeremy Wonderling brought home the win. In 2016, current Super Late Model competitor Bryce Davis won the feature event, which was the inaugural appearance by the RUSH Late Model Touring Series at the “Big R”.

VandeMark Chemical and East Coast Speed will present the racing action on July 9, which will also feature the $350 to win Richard Wilkinson Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks. Joining the RUSH Crate Late Models and the Mini Stocks will be the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, KiPo Motors Street Stocks, and the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman. A Kids Power Wheel Race will also take place. Pit gates will open at 5 pm with grandstands opening at 6 pm and racing will get underway at 7:15 pm. For those who cannot attend, the entire racing program will be streamed live on www.dirttrackdigest.tv
