Hammock Wins at Heart o'Texas !
Joe Hyles, WACO, Texas (September 11, 2011) – Jerry Hammock, driving the Outlaw Driving School sponsored #01 car won the SST A-Main event Saturday night September 10th at Heart O’ Texas Speedway. This was a special win for Hammock because his wife and children were in attendance, and it was his birthday. Hammock started in the 11th spot of the inverted field and steadily picked off cars lap after lap. He took the lead from pole sitter Bruce Bridges in #11 who had lead for the first 16 laps and eventually finished in the second spot. Mike Herring in #90 made his way from his eight starting position to finish in third. The victims and survivors of the September 11th 2001 tragedy were honored by the track and drivers who observed a moment of silence and later handed out American flags to youngsters in the stands. The next SST event is scheduled for Saturday October 8th at 85 Speedway near Ennis.
