ASCS Sooner Taking On Creek County Speedway Before Squaring Off Against ASCS Warrior In Topeka
Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (August 21, 2019) Looking at two nights of racing this weekend, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products will hit the quarter-mile clay of Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. on Friday, August 23 before going head-to-head with the Racinboys.com ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps on Saturday August 24 at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kan.
The season’s third visit to Creek County Speedway, two previous trips have seen just as many winners with Blake Hahn topping action on April 12, followed by series point’s leader, Sean McClelland on May 10. Going into the weekend, Sean McClelland commands a 267 point lead over Fred Mattox with Kyle Clark, Grady Chandler, and Alex Sewell to complete the top five.
Last visiting Heartland Motorsports Park on August 25, 2018, the night’s showdown between the ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps, and then ASCS Red River Region went the way of the Sooner State with Broken Arrow’s Mike Goodman taking the win.
For the ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps, the season’s point’s battle is in the hands of Miles Paulus by 208 markers over Ben Brown. Making steady gains, Nicholas Howard sits third with a chance to take over second. Jonathan Cornell and Ayrton Gennetten make up the top five.
Friday, August 23 at Creek County Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:00 P.M. Scheduled start time is 7:30 P.M. (CT) and includes the Lucas Oil NOW600 presented by Tel-Star Technologies as well as Sooner Limited Modifieds. Admission is $15 with kids 10 and under free into the Grandstands. Saturday, August 24 at Heartland Motorsports Park opens at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:00 P.M. The night’s ASCS Regional Showdown will also include B-Mods. Admission is $15, youth 7-12 is $8, kids 6 and under are free into the Grandstands. Heartland Motorsports Park is located at 7530 SW Topeka Blvd. Topeka, KS 66619.
