Tyler Drueke dips, dives, dodges traffic for MSTS win

“It’s been a long time since I’ve won a 360 race,” said Tyler Drueke in victory lane with MSTS 360 Saturday night at Wagner Speedway.

In fact, the last time Drueke was in the winner’s circle with a 360 engine was with MSTS in 2017 at Wagner Speedway. “This place is easy to drive with all the banking but very tough to pass.”

Drueke led all 25 laps in the Property Solutions of America main event but it wasn’t as easy as it sounds. Drueke entered lap traffic before the halfway point of the event and many of those cars were running side-by-side. Drueke made a great move in turn two to pass two of those cars and extend his lead over Seth Bergman.

Bergman wasn’t done there. The second place running car closed to the leader’s tail tank with just two laps to go. Again, it was a perfect drive off turn for the #12 to extend the lead and go on for the win.

Drueke was followed by Bergman and Lee Grosz. Jody Rosenboom and Ryan Bickett exchanged fourth and fifth place several times with Rosenboom getting the spot at the checkered just ahead of Bickett.

Brant O’Banion was the Auto Land Hard Charger – gaining five spots as he efforted a seventh place finish.

MSTS 360 will close the 2018 season this Friday as part of the Rapid Nationals at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
