Frederick Survives 40 Lap Ironman Challenge

A complete restart in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature allowed Allen Frederick to grab the lead from pole sitter Jeremy Engelhardt to lead the first of 40 laps of the 40/40 Ironman Challenge. Racing for $500 to win, Engelhardt and Kelly Hoerner were all over Frederick’s rear bumper. Engelhardt shuffled into the lead just before a caution reset the field. As Engelhardt pulled away on the restart, Hoerner, Allen Frederick and Zach Frederick raced hard for second. Zach slipped by Hoerner and Allen Frederick to move into the second position. A lap 13 caution put Zach Frederick on Engelhardt’s bumper and on the restart, Zach took over the top spot. A caution five laps later allowed Royce Jawaski and Shawn Volk to slip by Hoerner for second. A late race caution regrouped the field and with eight laps to go, Jawaski looked low under Frederick. As they continued to race for the win, Wyatt Rath-Wald was trying to hold off Allan Frederick and Hoerner for fourth. As they crossed the finish line, Wyatt Rath-Wald just narrowly edged Allan Frederick and Kelly Hoerner for fourth. Shawn Volk finished third while Royce Jawaski finished runner-up to feature winner Zach Frederick.
