Josh Schneiderman- Strong Finish Brings Close to Knoxville Season!

Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 team have closed the season strongly at Knoxville Raceway in Iowa. The West Burlington, Iowa native was at it again Saturday night, charging from 11th to sixth. That put Josh ninth in the final point standings for the season. That’s his best run since finishing eighth in 2010. This weekend, the team will compete with the Sprint Invaders on Sunday in Illinois at Quincy Raceways.

Josh timed in 11th quick Saturday after coming out 16th in the order. “We’ve been slowly getting better (at qualifying),” he says. “I felt going out earlier may have been better, but then Davey (Heskin) came out later and went fifth quick. Qualifying is something we’re definitely going to focus hard on in the offseason.”

He would start and finish third in his heat. “The track didn’t slow down as much as we hoped it would,” says Josh. “I probably could have slid (Matt) Moro going into one, but I felt good on the bottom. With the NSL, you want to finish as well as you can in the heat, because it’s all about points.”

It was enough points to place Josh inside row six for the main event. “We were really nice in the feature,” says Josh. “I felt we got ‘dirtied up’ a couple of times. I think sometimes when you are a clean racer, you get taken advantage of. Some of those other guys pulled some questionable sliders there, but you always have those feelings. That’s another thing we’ll work on, is pushing those gray areas.”

Still Josh came on late in the race, crossing the line sixth. “We definitely have some momentum working heading into next year,” he says. “I think ninth (place in the standings) is up a few spots from last year. It’s always strong competition all year long at Knoxville. I believe we ended up with our podium finish, two top fives and seven top tens. We were really strong in the second half of the season. I know we passed a ton of cars.”

The team is excited about getting down to the bullring in Quincy Sunday. “We’re excited about getting back down to Quincy,” says Josh. “I don’t think we fared too well there last year, but our team has really been working hard, and we hope we can finish one of these up front.”
