Cottage Grove, Oregon- For folks looking for some quality entertainment this weekend then look no further than Cottage Grove Speedway. The ¼-mile clay oval will host the final Fast Friday of 2016 on Friday, August 26th. General Admission for Friday night is completely FREE. Classes in action include IMCA Modifieds and Open Comp Hornets.

Then Saturday, the 27th, will be the first of two Championship Nights of the season. Four titles will be stitched up once all of the racing has concluded. It is the final race of the year for the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, and Street Stocks.

Tickets for Saturday are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, Family Pass $30.00, and Children 5 or under are FREE. As will happen all year long in honor of our 60th Anniversary the 60th fan through the Front Gate gets in for FREE.

Patrick Dills has a narrow nineteen-point margin over Raquel Ivie in the title race. Ricky Ashley is a mere twenty-eight markers back in third. If Dills can hold on he will be the first driver since Danny Horner in 2003 to win back-to-back championships in this division.

Patrick Dills, Dave Hibbard, and Dusty Redmond are all tied for the most wins this year with two each. Ricky Ashley, Cooper Desbiens, Camden Robustelli, and Orion Redmond all have won once.

It’s a two-horse race in the IMCA Modified division between Curtis Towns and Steven Sturdevant. Towns has a slim ten-point margin over Sturdevant going into the final race. Towns has won two career Modified championships, including last year, while Sturdevant won the 2016 450cc champion at Territorial Motocross Park.

Collen Winebarger has the most victories in the class with four triumphs over Jesse Williamson and Mark Wauge’s three. Jake Mayden and Craig Hanson have two wins while single-time visitors to victory lane include Curtis Towns, Kinzer Cox, Kellen Chadwick, and Mark Carrell.

In the IMCA Sport Mods, it also is a closely contested affair. Ten points separate first place Shawn Hand over second place Andrew Mathers. Daniel Ray is a close third and is eleven points behind the standings leader. Shawn Hand won the inaugural championship in the Quality RV Repair Hornets back in 2011.

Jorddon Braaten has won the lion’s share of the main events with seven trips to the winner’s circle. Daniel Ray, Chris Frisbie, and Jimmy Lipke all have one win apiece.

And if you thought those were narrow margins, the Street Stocks only have four points separating the top two drivers. Andrew Langan is on top with Chris Sine right behind him. Sine is the defending track champion while Andrew Langan won titles in 2009 and 2011.

Chris Sine and Kevin Williamson are tied for the most wins this year, with two each, going into the final weekend. Kyle Yeack and Andrew Langan have one win each while Evan Britton won a non-point event earlier this year.

Time for both races is Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, and Racing is scheduled to start around 6:30. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com. Also be sure and check out the official Facebook page to get the latest updates on your favorite mobile device.
