Zevenbergen, Tesch, Arends, DeBoer Pick Up Wins

The clouds cleared as the cars hit the track to setup a beautiful night for racing. Seven Sportsmans drivers took the green flag in the feature, and Roger DeBoer was seeking to become the fourth different driver to win this season. DeBoer had a rocket ship, leading every lap of the feature to pick up his first win of the season. Nineteen USRA Hobby Stocks were aiming to take home the checkered flag, but one driver had every else’s number. Blake Arends took the lead on lap number one and never looked back, leading every lap. After the point leader, Dylan Fitzpatrick, pulled in with mechanical issues running second, Tim Waltner went from third to almost winning, coming up a half of a car length short at the finish line. The win was Arends first of the year. Twenty USRA B-Mods were looking to win, but once again, one driver made the rest look silly. The feature was plagued by cautions, but when the race under green, the racing was from top to bottom on the surface. Through it all, Tyler Tesch, like Arends, led every lap to pick up his first career victory at Rapid Speedway. The night was capped off by the USRA Stock Cars, starting 16 cars in the main event. The beginning of the race saw three cautions, but once it stayed under green flag conditions, Elijah Zevenbergen showed his strength, using the top and the bottom of the track to slice his way to the lead. Unlike in past weeks, where he was under constant pressure, Zevenbergen left the field in the dust, picking up his fourth checkered flag of the year, and extending his points lead. Rapid Speedway is not racing July 1, but will be back July 8 with the USRA B-Mod Special!
