Your Guide to the Jackson Nationals!
Your Guide to the Jackson Nationals!
Windom, MN (September 1, 2015) – A record $130,000 purse awaits drivers at the 37th Annual FVP National Sprint League Jackson Nationals this Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5! A unique format will ensure that drivers will be giving it everything they have from start to finish! The NSL winner of the Jackson Nationals will walk away with $25,000!
The Jackson Nationals is much more than a race! It is a two-day EVENT at the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minnesota that will have the whole family entertained! Activities begin at 3 p.m. on Friday with sponsor giveaways, a bounce house and a full bar and beer garden!
Those activities continue on Saturday at 1 p.m. with much more in store! Live music, a bean bag tournament, a silent auction, more giveaways and a dunk tank featuring your favorite drivers are all part of the festivities!
Also, there will be a fireworks show both nights, with Saturday night’s intermission featuring an outstanding display! Hot laps are scheduled for 7:15 p.m. each night.
Over thirty drivers have already expressed their intentions on going for the big loot!
Current FVP National Sprint League point leader, Danny Lasoski has even more than the $25,000 first place check on his mind. If he should win, he will also cash in the $25,000 DeBerg Concrete Triple Crown Challenge, making his payday $50,000! The Dover, Missouri driver is eligible for the bonus thanks to NSL wins earlier this season at both the Knoxville Raceway in Iowa and Huset’s Speedway in South Dakota.
Other NSL drivers expected to compete include 2014 Knoxville Raceway champion, Ian Madsen, two-time “King of California”, Tim Kaeding, seven-time IRA champion, Bill Balog, seven-time Knoxville Raceway and eight-time Huset’s Speedway champion, Terry McCarl, two-time USAC sprint and midget champion, Bryan Clauson, three-time Folkens Brothers Trucking Spring Nationals winner, Brian Brown, Knoxville Nationals World Challenge winner, Lynton Jeffrey, five-time Huset’s Speedway champion, Mark Dobmeier, nine-time Australian World Series Sprincar champion, Brooke Tatnell and Minnesota’s Craig Dollansky. The majority of the 40+ NSL members are expected to be in action!
National Sprint Car Hall of Famer, Sammy Swindell, leads a list of invaders hoping to take the trophy from the NSL! Indiana’s Parker Price-Miller, “Lady Lightning” Paige Polyak, 2013 Knoxville Raceway champion, Bronson Maeschen and Indianola, Iowa’s Dustin Selvage have all expressed their interest in competing at the Jackson Nationals!
Autograph Session
Your favorite drivers will be conducting an autograph session in the Fan Zone from 4:30 to 5:30 on Saturday!
National Sprint Car Museum Madness!
The Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minnesota, will host the “National Sprint Car Museum Madness” program on Friday, September 4, in conjunction with the FVP-sponsored National Sprint League (NSL) Jackson Nationals preliminary night of sprint car racing. The museum will be giving away sprint car-related prizes from its museum store to many lucky fans in attendance.
Said museum curator Tom Schmeh today, “For me personally, I haven’t been to Jackson Speedway since 1987. It will be fun to get back up there for the NSL-inspired rejuvenation of the Jackson Nationals. In fact, I love that the NSL has posted the list of past Jackson Nationals winners recently. It is an incredible list of champions, including National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductees Bobby Davis, Jr., Doug Wolfgang, Bobby Allen, Steve Kinser, and Rickey Hood. Interestingly enough, Hall of Famers Danny Lasoski and Sammy Swindell will both be present this weekend looking for their first Jackson Nationals title. Museum volunteer Jim Harris of Omaha, Nebraska, will be joining me as we give away a lot of neat prizes to many of those on-hand for this special annual event. If you are sprint car fan in Minnesota or northern Iowa, you will want to be at Jackson this weekend, especially on Friday night, for the winged 410-cubic-inch sprint car races and Museum Madness.”
