SSP Saturday August 29th Races And Sunday Practice Canceled Due To Stormy Weather

Banks, Oregon- We regret to inform our race fans and teams that the races for Saturday August 29th have been canceled due to weather. The weather forecast is getting worse and worse by the hour and a high wind advisory, that are supposed to reach 60-70 MPH from the Coastal Range, has been put in effect in the local area. We want to ensure the safety of our staff, fans, and drivers so we have decided to cancel for tonight. This also means the practice scheduled for Sunday the 30th is also canceled.
Sunset Speedway Park will be dormant over Labor Day weekend so we wish you and your families all a relaxing and safe weekend. The next event for SSP will be on Saturday September 12th. Classes in action include the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and both classes of Micro Sprints. The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds will race for one-hundred laps and $750.00 to win as the race is being billed the Budweiser IMCA Modified Mayhem 100.
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
