Southern Oregon Speedway would be the site of the second race of the Western Sprint Tour in 2015. The Saturday May 23rd event would attract fourteen teams from the states of Oregon, Washington, and California. Despite the light car count a very fast race track was prepared and some great racing was witnessed.
On the opening start of the feature Medford's Roger Crockett would take full advantage of the outside front row starting position to obtain the lead in his Rocket Designs/Auto Stitch Embroidery/BC Motorsports/Parker Racing Engines #11 KPC. Crockett would set a blistering pace that even had him below the track record on lap times. By setting such a fast pace it meant lapped traffic would be in the picture.
Roger would get held up a couple of times by the back markers but a few cautions would occur at the right moments to bunch the field back up. After the final restart, due to a caution on lap sixteen, Crockett would receive a little pressure from challengers but not enough to give up his lead. He would stay out in front the rest of the way to win his first career Western Sprint Tour feature.
Stanwood, Washington's Jared Peterson was second, in the Roger Henderson owned Cascade Metal Recycling/All Points Petroleum/Dave Qualow Trucking/Bailey Brothers Performance Center #7N KPC, followed by Trey Starks of Puyallaup, Washington, piloting his Starks Timber Processing/Southstar Equipment Limited/Rutz Racing/MASCO Petroleum #55 J&J, in third. The Berco Redwood/Berry Logging/P.M. Truck Repair/LRB Manufacturing/Justice Brothers Car Car Products #31C A.R.T. Of Justyn Cox, Clarksburg, California, crossed the wire fourth and Salem's Kyle Miller was fifth in the Tim Galloway owned Myer's Logging/Automotive Sheetmetal/Trifer Glass & Tinting/Machined For Speed By Craig Jensen #51 XXX.
Roger Crockett set fast time of the night while Jared Peterson won the trophy dash. Heat races were won by Justyn Cox and Peterson.
