Sonny Moddaff Ready For SSP Spring Challenge Presented By 98.7 The Bull; Enters Fifth In NELMS Points

Banks, Oregon- Daniel “Sonny” Modaff of Battle Ground, Washington is pumped to get back to racing at Sunset Speedway Park this weekend. He will enter the Spring Challenge presented by 98.7 The Bull fifth in points with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series. The year is off to a good start with two top ten finishes in the first two events of the campaign. Last season was the first year back after taking a couple of years off.
“It's going a lot better this year then last year,” said Modaff, “It's all about re-familiarizing myself with the car. The first race at Banks I drove a little over my head and at Cottage Grove I forgot how hard you have to attack that track.”
In the first race of the season, on April 25th, at SSP Sonny was seventh in the feature. A few weeks later at Cottage Grove he managed a ninth place finish, and fifth among the Crates, on May 9th. He plans to build off of the first two races to do better in the next two events.
“I think we have a good game plan for this weekend,” continued the 2011 Sunset Speedway Park Late Model champion, “I'm having some guys come out and help me and I've been studying a lot on tires so that should help.”
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets for both events are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
