Cottage Grove, Oregon- Saturday August 23rd will be the annual Mark Howard Memorial at the Cottage Grove Speedway. This date will be dedicated to a man that was not only a successful race car drivers but also a great mentor to many upcoming drivers.

The Street Stock division, a class he was instrumental in starting, will be on tap for their annual Wallbanger Cup, which is named in honor of Howard’s racing nickname “Marky Wallbanger”. The 2014 edition will pay $326.00 to win and $26.00 to start. A full breakdown of the payout is below this release and a big shout out goes to the folks at Brad’s Car Tunes.

Also the rules will be opened up for this race which include: weight jacks allowed, double heim shock are limited to five shocks (but no split valves), floater rear ends are legal, no roller cams, and carburetors do not need a choke tower for cars that run a MSD box but a 6500 chip is required. Weight jacks will be marked at the beginning of the night and cannot be readjusted once marked. The heim shocks will also be marked at the start of the night too.

Don’t forget that CGS is now allowing steering quickners and headers too in the Street Stocks. This is guaranteed to be a great night of racing in honor of a great man. For the latest information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
