Greg Walters Wins Race #5 With NELMS At SSP

The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series would be on tap for their eighth race of 2014 on Saturday July 19th at Sunset Speedway Park. It would mark the fifth occasion this season that the tour has visited the “Banks Bullring”.
Taking over the lead on lap ten was Greg Walters from Banks in his T&G Trucking/American Landscaping/Schram Brothers Excavating/Duncan Automotive #97 Victory Circle. Walters would show the rest of the way in the main event to score his fifth win at SSP in ’14 and his ninth straight trip to victory lane, a streak that going back as far as July 4th, 2013, when the series has been in town.
The Reser’s Fine Foods/Wayne Martin Floor Covering/Alliance Automotive/Competitive Edge Sign & Design #99 MasterSbilt of Brad Martin from Warren was second while in third would be Vancouver, Washington’s Jerry Schram in his Schram Brothers Excavating/Century III Stables/Bodies By Steve-O #16 MasterSbilt entry in third. The rest of the top five would be Bob Trout of Banks in the Mechanical Systems Inc./Greenway Construction #28 Victory Circle in fourth while placing fifth was the All-In Property Investments/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix #67 MasterSbilt of Gresham’s Dave Walters.
It would be a clean sweep for Greg Walters as he set fast time and won both his heat race as well as the trophy dash. The winner of the only other heat race was Jerry Schram. The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series will be back in action at Willamette Speedway on Friday July 25th and Saturday 26th for a doubleheader at the historic 1/3-mile clay oval.
