Walters Wins For Fourth Time At SSP With NELMS

The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series were on hand for their second leg of the Independence Day weekend doubleheader at Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday July 5th. It would be another great race at the “Banks Bullring” as the series made their fourth visit to the ¼-mile clay oval in 2014.
Greg Walters would take over the lead on lap seven after making the pass around Salem chauffeur Jacob Myers. Walters would have no issues the rest of the way as the Banks driver would lead the remainder of the distance for the win. It would also be a clean sweep of the evening’s events and his fourth win for the T&G Trucking/American Landscaping/Schram Brothers Excavating/Duncan Automotive/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix #97 Victory Circle team with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series in 2014.
Brad Martin of Warren was a respectable second in his Reser’s Fine Foods/Wayne Martin Floor Covering/Competitive Edge Sign & Design/Alliance Automotive #99 MasterSbilt followed by Jerry Schram, out of Vancouver, Washington, in the Schram Brothers Excavating/Century III Stables/Bodies By Steve-O #16 MasterSbilt in third. Rounding up the top five was Jacob Myers in his Baxter’s Auto Parts/Blasen & Blasen Lumber Corp/Powell Motors #9 Rayburn in fourth with fifth place belonging to the Ireland & Ireland at Law/Privateer Racing/Klecker Knives/Applebee Aviation #8 machine of Rob Ireland from Banks.
