NELMS On Hand For SSP Independence Day Weekend Doubleheader Starting With The Baseline Pawn Firecracker 100

Banks, Oregon- After last weekend’s rain out at Coos Bay Speedway the cars and stars of the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series will be on tap for not one but two events this Independence Day weekend at Sunset Speedway Park. The first race of the doubleheader will be the one-hundred lap Firecracker 100 presented by Baseline Pawn on Friday July 4th followed by another night of action on Saturday the 5th.
Shaun Mayea was able to win in the Season Opener at Cottage Grove, Phillip Johnson picked up the huge win at Madras Speedway, and “Superman” Collen Winebarger won in a thriller at Willamette Speedway. Greg Walters has been victorious the two times the NELMS series has visited including the Spring Challenge in May.
The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has visited SSP a total of twenty-one times since the organization’s inception in 2010 with Greg Walters winning the most at fourteen triumphs including the aforementioned triumph at the Spring Challenge this year. Collen Winebarger has three wins while drivers with just one include Terry Ferrando, Jerry Schram, Russ Sell, and Billy Workman Jr.
Both days the Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 3:30, and racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for Friday are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $55.00. Saturday tickets are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
