CGS To Close Out Speedweek Northwest For Second Straight Year

Cottage Grove, Oregon- For the second consecutive year Speedweek Northwest will wrap up at Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday July 4th and Saturday the 5th. The historic ¼-mile clay oval has already hosted four ASCS-Northwest Region events with Seth Bergman winning two while J.J. Hickle and Henry Van Dam have one each. In local competition there have been three point events with Roger Crockett, Henry Van Dam, and Colin Baker making visits to the winner’s circle. Don't miss out on Friday the 4th as to celebrate Independence Day there will be a massive fireworks display.

There have been fifteen total Speedweek Northwest events at “The Grove” with eight different winners being produced. Roger Crockett has five over Brent Kaeding who has three. Shane Stewart has won twice while drivers with just a single triumph include Jason Solwold, Brad Furr, Jesse Hockett, and Wayne Johnson.

There have been twenty-six ASCS sanctioned events at CGS since 2008 with seven different winners. Roger Crockett leads that win list with a total of twelve visits to victory lane including all six visits in 2013. Jason Johnson has four wins at Cottage Grove while Shane Stewart, Seth Bergman, and Henry Van Dam have been in the winner’s circle twice. Drivers who have won once when the tour has been in town include Jesse Hockett, Wayne Johnson, Brady Bacon, and J.J. Hickle.

For each night the Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and Racing starts at 6:45. Ticket prices per event are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE.

Speedweek Northwest begins on Sunday June 29th at Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka, California. Be sure and don’t miss a lap of the action as the ASCS-Northwest Region as the area’s best 360 Sprint Car drivers will contest on seven different race tracks in three different states that include Oregon, Washington, and California.
