Madras Speedway To Host Round #3 Of 2014 Northwest Extreme Late Model Series Schedule

Madras, Oregon- The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series will host their third race of the season at Madras Speedway on Saturday May 31st. It will be the first time since May of 2012 that the series has visited the Central Oregon ¼-mile clay oval. The Pacific Northwest’s premier touring Dirt Late Model series has visited Madras a total of four times since the tour was formed in 2010. Of those four events completed there have been three different winners.
“The fans really like the series when they come over and they have always put on a good show “, commented co-owner of Madras Speedway Debi Arnold, “we enjoy having them and are happy they are coming back. We’re really looking forward to the “cartoon” theme they have this year.”
We do want to emphasize that there will be TWO SEPARATE classes racing on Saturday at Madras. One will be the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series only and the other will consist of the Madras’ regular Open Late Models. Also a special format will be utilized for this event. Pill Draw will line up heats and heat race finishes will line up the main event. The top two in each heat will run a trophy dash.
2012 series champion Jason Wines won the first ever visit by the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series back in May of 2010. Wines also earned a victory in the last venture by the organization to Madras back in 2012. Brady Sell and Joey Tanner join him as drivers who have won with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series at Madras.
There have been only two events completed in the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series in the 2014 season. Shaun Mayea won the Season Opener down in Cottage Grove in April while Greg Walters would conquer the one and only night of the Spring Challenge last Saturday night at Sunset Speedway Park.
Tickets are Adults $10.00, Children (Ages 6-12) $5.00, Seniors (62+) $6.00, Children Ages Five and Under are FREE, and Military (with I.D.) $5.00. Pit Passes are $20.00 and Racing gets started around 6:30 PM. For more information log on to www.madrasspeedway.com.
