Willamette Speedway To Host Second Leg Of Triple Track Challenge

Lebanon, Oregon- Fans of Willamette Speedway will be happy to know that the historic 1/3-mile clay oval will host the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region on Friday May 23rd. It will be the third race of four for the 2014 Season Opening weekend being dubbed the Triple Track Challenge.

The series begins everything on Thursday May 22nd down in White City at Southern Oregon Speedway. After the stop at Willamette on Friday they will go to Cottage Grove Speedway for two nights of racing on Saturday May 24th and Sunday the 25th.

“I think this year the series is going to be great,” commented Willamette Speedway Track Manager Chris Nofziger,” the series is headed in the right direction with the purse this year and that will help the car count. Also the way we scheduled the races here it should make for good car counts and a great crowd. They have had some good races here in the past.”

Prices on Friday for the show are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE. Racing is scheduled to get underway around 7:00 PM.

Willamette Speedway will be visited by the ASCS-Northwest Region two more times this season. Wednesday July 2nd and Friday August 8th. 2013 the wins were spread around with five different winners in five visits.

Since 2008 Willamette Speedway has hosted the series a total of thirteen occasions. In those thirteen races nine drivers have graced the winner’s circle. Roger Crockett has had the pleasure of doing it the most with a total four times including last August. Wayne Johnson is the only other repeat winner with his two wins with the National Tour in 2012. Jesse Hockett, Kyle Larson, Logan Forler, Kyle Hirst, Travis Rilat, Jeff Swindell, and Brad Loyet all have one win each.

Be sure and don’t miss a lap of the action as the ASCS-Northwest Region as the area’s best 360 Sprint Car drivers will contest on seven different race tracks in three different states that include Oregon, Washington, and California.
