Willamette Speedway would see a great night of racing on Saturday September 7th as the 2013 campaign gets closer and closer to the final race of the year. DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, and Sportsman classifications were on the card for the evening.

A new name would join the 2013 winner’s list in the DIRTcar Super Late Models at Willamette. Justin Duty of Happy Valley would lead the most laps and hold back all challengers. The event would go flag to flag and marked the first time the Don Frank Flooring #15 Rocket of Duty had ever won a Late Model feature.

Also going flag to flag in main event action was the IMCA Modifieds. For second time this year Crawfordsville’s Kyle Yeack would win a Modified feature. Yeack would lead the entire distance and even held back his own father, Tom, to reenter victory lane in his Mountain View Woodworking Inc./Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment #47 Pro.

For the third time this season Scio’s Steve Moore would finish first at the stripe in Super Sport action. Moore would get the lead after the Dennis Automotive/James Gang Pizza #13B Rayburn of Randy Barley from Albany would give it up in lapped traffic. The Xtreme Motorsports/Schram Brothers Excavating/Bodies By Steve-O #21 MasterSbilt of Moore is now tied with Gil Pickett for most main event victories this season.

Also winning his second race of the season was Phil Housworth in the Sportsman ranks. Housworth, of Lebanon, would put on a dominant performance to find his way back to the winner’s circle in his Bullygang.com/Wirth Wireless #33 Jet.

Willamette Speedway will return for a doubleheader next Friday and Saturday night. Friday September 13th will mark the final race of the year for the Kart program with championships on the line. Then on Saturday the 14th the DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks will be back in action on the 1/3-mile clay oval.
