Tanner Mullens earns podium result at Turkey Bowl XIX

Emerging from a field of more than 75 Modifieds, Tanner Mullens finished third in the Turkey Bowl XIX A-Main at Springfield (Missouri) Raceway on Saturday night.

Modified action got underway on Friday at the quarter-mile track, with each competitor taking part in a pair of heat races. In his first heat, Mullens advanced from ninth to second in his Mel Hambelton Ford No. 02 Modified. He went on to win his second heat race after starting on the front row.

Mullens’ preliminary performances locked him into Saturday’s 30-lap, $6,000-to-win feature. He started fifth and climbed two positions to finish third behind Jim Chisholm and Reece Solander. Chris Spalding and Ken Schrader completed the top five.
