Holland is Modified runner-up in Fall Classic
Chase Holland took to the track in two divisions on Friday and Saturday during the 31st annual Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. His best finish came in his Industrial Dock & Door Company No. 45 Modified, as he brought home a runner-up result in the A-Main.
When action got underway at the “House of Hook” on Friday, Holland was one of 31 competitors entered in the Open Wheel Modified class at the quarter-mile, red-clay oval. He set the quickest time overall in qualifying and won his heat race from the pole, starting him from the top spot in the following day’s $2,500-to-win main event.
Holland led the first four circuits of the 25-lapper – and five total – before finishing second to Stormy Scott. Holland trailed Scott by 2.692 seconds at the checkered flag, with Jade Luzenberg, Hunter Breland and Ryan Fowler completing the top five.
Holland was also behind the wheel of the No. 327 Crate Late Model in the Crate Racin’ USA 604 Late Model class at the Fall Classic. Competing among 45 entries on Friday, Holland was 13th in his group during qualifying and went on to race from seventh to fifth in his heat.
He started from the pole in Saturday’s B-Main and finished second, earning him the 19th-place starting position in the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He climbed one position in the race and finished 18th.
