It's Burton and beach balls in thrilling Eve of Destruction!

The drivers of the Monster X Metal and Gold Eve of Destruction events at Birch Run Speedway and Event Center continue to thrill the fans who continue to pack the facility for these events! And the fans were able to get into the summertime festivities as beach balls bounced throughout the stands, and the kids were allowed to shoot water guns at the drivers during the Back to School race!

Justin Pepitone continued his winning ways in the Pull race, taking partner Gerry Persails Jr to the winners circle ahead of Josh VanWormer and third place Andrew Burton.

The Push Race saw multiple close calls and bent body panels, but Pepitone and Persails claimed victory again. Andrew Burton secured second in front of Maverick Morrow.

Starting in "unlucky" position 13, Andrew Burton carved his way through the field and dodged fellow racers and the bus to secure his second Back to School Race win of 2025. Justin Pepitone trailed Burton in second, and Doug Hennesy finished third.

A multi-time winner in 2024, Cody Luark captured the win in the Front Wheel Drive Flagpole race. Doug Hennessy and Anthony Williams finished second and third in the event.

The Rear Wheel Drive Flagpole race had 17 entrants vying for the win, but it was Anthony Richardson picking up his second victory of 2025. Second and third were Gerry Persails Jr and Andrew Burton.

Maverick Morrow claimed victory in the Oval Enduro ahead of Andrew Burton, Josh DeLong, and 30 other competitors.

Only slowed for one red flag, the Figure 8 Enduro lived up to the reputation of some of the best and craziest racing action! At one point, the top 4 were all battling for position, dodging other cars and trucks in the intersection and making passes through the grass. Despite suffering damage in transponder testing, Josh DeLong made it back to the track and was going for his third Figure 8 win, but Andrew Burton had other plans. Burton started deep in the field and put on a masterclass in showing why he is a three-time Figure 8 track Champion, putting his #05 in victory lane! DeLong held on for second ahead of Anthony Richardson, Justin Pepitone, and Gerry Persails Jr.

The School Bus Figure 8 completed the night's activities, and Anthony Richardson took the Mid Michigan Mayhem bus to the winner's circle.

The attention shifts back to the oval track action as this Friday is round one of the 2025 Season Championships and the running of the inaugural Karl Kowalcyk Legacy Lap for the Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks. The Pure Stocks will be competing for one of the richest paying events for the class at the track, with the winner pocketing $1,055!

The Limited Late Models and Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks will both conclude their seasons. Coming into the night, Dalton Worthy holds a slim seven-point advantage over Josh Hahn and is only 13 points ahead of Matt Mueller in the Limited Late Models.

The Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks feature a close points battle, too! Johnny Hayden leads the way, but John Leonard sits only 6 points back, with Chaz Taylor 11 markers back.

The Backroad Beaute' Salon American Race Trucks will also be in action. All classes will be running four-car dashes and Australian Pursuits instead of heat races.

The 2025 International 500 Snowmobile Race/Pure Michigan Summer Tour will be visiting the facility along with the Metro Jets Hockey team from the USPHL. Adults 15 and older get in for $15, with seniors and Veterans paying $12. Children 14 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Visit www.birchrunevents.com for advance tickets.
