Mitchell Scores First Career Rogers-Dabbs Late Model Sportsman Tour Victory at Xtreme

(Danville, AL – August 9, 2025) – The hometown crowd had plenty to cheer about on Saturday night as Russellville, Alabama’s Braden Mitchell broke through for his first career Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour victory at Xtreme Speedway, collecting a $2,500 payday in the process.

Mitchell started third and patiently stalked early race leader Chase Giddens of Moultrie, GA, who paced the opening 23 laps of the 30-lap main event. Mitchell to slip past on lap 24, and from there, he never looked back – holding off a hard-charging field over the closing circuits to seal the win.

It was a family celebration at the front of the field, as Bryson Mitchell, also of Russellville, powered from 10th on the grid to finish second, just 1.227 seconds behind his brother at the checkered flag – earning the Scorpion Race Cars Hard Charger Award for his efforts. Mario Gresham of Rome, GA, Friday night’s feature winner, completed the podium after climbing from seventh to third.

Dylan Baus of Jefferson, GA, and Logan Bradford of Cullman, AL, rounded out the top five. Giddens, after dominating the opening two-thirds of the race, faded late and crossed the stripe in 12th.

The 24-car field thrilled the Danville crowd, with tight battles all throughout the pack. Heat race wins went to Braden Mitchell, Logan Bradford, and Caleb Ashby, while Giddens topped qualifying with a Bama Sheds & Pole Barns Pole Award time of 13.886 seconds.

With little time to celebrate, the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour now turns its attention to a two-night weekend alongside the Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series. The action kicks off Friday, August 15, at Penton Raceway in Lafayette, AL, with a $1,500-to-win show, before heading to Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, on Saturday, August 16, for a $2,000-to-win main event. Both events will be streamed live on Crate Racin’ USA TV.
