Audacious August for the MLDS

West Allis, WI (August 1st, 2025) - The month of August has started and it’s looking to be a good one for the Midwest Legends Dirt Series. Five races with a return to three familiar tracks and two new ones to the series make the month exciting. The points battle is also heating up as the season draws to a close.

It’s a new venue to start off the month and a first trip south of the border for the MLDS as the series visits Sycamore Speedway in Sycamore, Illinois on Saturday, the 2nd. The track, a 3/8th mile semi-banked clay oval, normally hosts weekly racing with multiple divisions and also plays host to a yearly Hell Tour Race, as well as multiple Badger Midget and IRA Sprint Car races. The series is ready to get racing in Illinois, in a hope to begin expanding to tracks in the southern Midwest in the future.

Race two of the month begins a massive stretch of four races in seven days for the MLDS. The first race takes us to Luxy Raceway on Sunday the 10th. The final INEX National Qualifier event for the MLDS in 2025, a return to a northern track is bound to bring some fun. Hayden Schmuhl and Ryan Sullivan have shared wins at the track this season so far. That race will be live on watchfye.tv.

Speaking of Schmuhl and Sullivan, those two will battle it out for the championship of the Weekday Warrior Series Presented by Spankins Motorsports at 141 Speedway on Tuesday the 12th. The two come into the night tied in points, and one will leave $500 richer. The action will be live on FloRacing.

Chilton’s Gravity Park Speedway hosts race three of the week on Friday the 15th. The third and final trip to the track will see if anyone is able to top Schmuhl, who has picked up both wins so far this season. An exciting night awaits for the series

The final race of the “hell week” once again is a new track. Sturgeon Bay’s The Hill Raceway hosts MLDS action for the first time in series history. The Door County Fair Night brings a new challenge to the series at the 1/3rd clay oval. Fatigue will for sure be kicking in, but drivers will be on the top of their game to finish the week off strong.

Points are heating up at the top of the table, with Sullivan in the lead but Schmuhl in easy striking distance. Adam Zellmer is a distance away but still close enough to jump at any given opportunity. Talyn Neuman and Lilly Fassbender find themselves fourth and fifth. It’s a seven point gap between Connor Carey in sixth and Nate Werner in seventh. Rob Maule is close behind those two in eighth and then it’s a large gap to Mike Swenson in ninth. It’s a single point for the final spot in the top ten with Tim Franz holding it currently with Keith Carey right there in eleventh. Twelfth is Dallas Ross, thirteenth is Cal Swenson, fourteenth is Mackenzie Maule, with Carson Grob in fifteenth. Keith Moline is sixteenth with Ryan Mech behind him closely in seventeenth. Cade Reisdorf, Jeff Schmidt, and Dan Mech round out the top twenty.

Weekday Warrior Presented by Spankins Motorsports points are not much to glance at, with Sullivan and Schmuhl tied on points. The only driver realistically close is Neuman, who is a far out thirty-one points behind.
