Severe Weather Forecast Forces Rescheduling of Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race at Georgetown Speedway
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 30, 2025
Georgetown, DE – Due to multiple forecast models and expert input from local meteorologists predicting flash flooding and severe thunderstorms beginning between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 31st, and continuing through late Friday, Delaware State Police and Georgetown Speedway officials have made the difficult decision to cancel the Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race scheduled for this week.
With no safe or feasible window to hold the event on Thursday, or Friday's rain date, officials conducted a thorough review of the Georgetown Speedway schedule, as well as regional and national touring series calendars and nearby track operations. As a result, the Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 26, with a rain date of Wednesday, August 27.
This rescheduled date will replace the previously announced Short Track Super Series “Blast at the Beach” event. The STSS event will not be run on that date or rescheduled at this time.
All classes, race formats, and posted purses for the Camp Barnes Benefit Race will transfer in full to the new date.
Tickets purchased online through MyRacePass for the Camp Barnes event will automatically carry over to Tuesday, August 26 and be valid only on that date.
Any tickets originally purchased for the Short Track Super Series event will be refunded in full.
We thank all fans, teams, and sponsors for their support and understanding as we prioritize safety and event integrity. Please continue to monitor our website and social media channels for additional updates.
