Vicious wreck at Tazewell takes Big Frog out of points chase with Southern National Series
Kicking off the final stretch of the mini-tour, Jimmy Owens and the Big Frog Motorsports team joined the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series at Toccoa (Ga.) Raceway on Tuesday afternoon to open up the last week of 2025.
Jimmy started on the pole of the $7,553-to-win opener and ran third in the 40-lap main event behind Zack Mitchell and Garrett Smith.
Owens struggled the following two nights at Sugar Creek Raceway (Blue Ridge, Ga.) and North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Ga.) with 11th and 12th-place finishes respectively.
Jimmy looked to finish on a strong note in the Ray Varner Ford 53 at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Saturday, but was unfortunately involved a massive wreck on lap 16 which saw Jimmy go up and over. The Big Frog team attempted to rejoin the field, but were unable to fix the damage.
Owens wound up third in the final point standings.
