Garrett Smith grabs podium finish at Wythe Raceway in Southern Nationals opening weekend
Set to chase the 2025 title this summer, Garrett Smith kicked off the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Series at Beckley Motor Speedway (Mount Hope, W.Va.) for the $10,053-to-win season opener.
Smith finished 16th in the first main event and turned his attention to Saturday's show at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) which was delayed by lingering rain showers. Garrett put down the quickest lap out of 23 entries which earned him the pole position for the $10,053-to-win main event. Smith fell to second on the initial start and eventually wound up third behind Chris Madden and Chris Ferguson.
