7/12/2025
Elma, WA -
The second annual Candy Dash, $5 Night, and the debut of the Spec Truck along with our 4 exciting classes of racing made for one exciting night of racing under Sunny Skies and a very exuberant crowd. Tyson Blood picked up the Modified Nationals Tune-up race, TJ Hartman won the wingless race while Shawn Rice won the 360 Sprint Cars. Landon Pruett picked up his second win on the season in the hornets and Jonah Vick made a last lap pass to win the debut of the Spec Ranger Trucks in a fun exhibition race.
Robert Jenner took the lead in the IMCA Modified main event with Tyson Blood right on the tail. Blood the quicker car went to the outside and took the lead on lap 6. Jenner was able to stay in second until disaster would strike and he would slow on lap 12 running second ending his night. On the restart 2025 Elma Auto Racing Hall of Famer and 6 time track champion Scott Miller would start on the inside and get by Kyler Moore for second. Craig Moore would work his way up from his 10th place running position on lap 1 to get into third with 3 to go. Nobody had anything for Tyson Blood has he would pick up his second win on the season, followed by Scott Miller, Craig Moore, Austin Rognlin in fourth and Kyler Moore in fifth. Heat race wins went to Kyler Moore and Scott Miller.
In the 360 Sprint Cars Brett Scott Jr led to green and Kai Dixon was able to take the lead coming out of turn 4 on lap 1. Shawn Rice came back from Arizona after a few years away and jumped in the 96 Mike and Terry Purbaugh Sprint Car which made its winged debut and took the lead on lap 5 and was able to pull away for the victory. Destry Miller wasn’t able to make a lap in the heat race and started fifth and was able to make his way around Dixon for second. Dixon making his first stop at Grays Harbor in 2025 finished 3rd, Levi Kuntz who spun on the initial start finished fourth and Brett Scott Jr in the Tim Martin owner 51 finished fifth. The 360 Hall of Fame/Battle Royale and Sprint Car Challenge Tour Speedweek finale on Sunday 27th is next for the 360 Sprint Cars.
TJ Hartman started fourth in the Wingless feature and took the lead coming out of turn 1 and set sailed and led all 25 laps to pick up the Kipple and Axel Walker 67x owned sprint car second win of the year here at Grays Harbor Raceway. Seth Wadel worked his way into 3rd and on a late restart ran down Brian Holmkvist with 2 laps to go to finish second, with Holmkvist third, Brett Scott Jr fourth and Jake Gillman fifth. TJ Hartman had a clean sweep of the night winning the heat race and getting quick time of the night.
The Spec Ranger Trucks made their dirt debut at Grays Harbor Raceway with an exhibition race. Jonah Vick and Shane Baer had quite the battle lap after lap and with the jump in the middle and the dog leg coming out of the infield to turn 3 that’s where it always got it excitement and the crowd got loud. Baer in the 6 cylinder could pull around turn 4 and down into turn 1 around turn 2 into the jump in the middle and the Vick 4 cylinder seemed to handle the sharp turns better and on the last lap after the jump Baer got wide as they came to a lap truck and Vick took advantage went on the inside and was able to hold off Baer as the crowd roared with excitement for the inaugural dirt victory with Baer second, Kevin Caufman third and Matt Higgenbottham fourth.
Nik Sheats led lap 1 then debris would bring out a caution. On the restart Landon Pruett would battle on the inside and get to the lead in turn 3 and 4 when Sheats had contact and end up in the loose stuff and have to really work to get the car back under control. Pruett would have to hold off Mike Harriett Jr and Nick Miles in a spirited battle and a late restart to get his second win on the year. Pruett would be followed by Harriett Jr in second, Miles in third, Randy Goodman in fourth, and Kyle Ragsdale in fifth.
