Oakley Johns scores Top-10 with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Senoia Raceway

For Fourth of July weekend, Oakley Johns followed the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series to Senoia (Ga.) Raceway on Saturday evening for the $15,000-to-win Independence Shootout.

After finishing fifth in his heat race, Johns earned a spot in the A-Main after grabbing the final transfer spot in a B-Main. Oakley stormed through the field in the 50-lap main event and rounded out the Top-10 in 10th.

Oakley continues to lead the Rookie of the Year point standings.

Johns joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Duck River Raceway Park (Shelbyville, Tenn.) on Sunday, but did not make the $5,000-to-win main event.
