CJ Horn Charges to Second Victory of 2025 at 34 Raceway

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (05/21/25) – CJ Horn continued his strong start to the 2025 season on Saturday night, capturing his second victory of the year at 34 Raceway behind the wheel of his Horn Racing Engines / Roberts Tire Center No. 01 Rocket Chassis Late Model.

The 21-year-old Iowa native, who recently launched a new website at www.CJHorn.com, secured the victory by more than three seconds after taking the lead on lap 17.

“This car has been incredibly fast,” Horn said in Victory Lane. “We’ve had a strong start to the season, and I’m hoping to keep the momentum going throughout the year. Big thanks to my dad—he’s got the car dialed in, and the engine has been phenomenal. I couldn’t do this without everything he does for me.”

Horn’s weekend swing through Iowa began Thursday with a trip to Davenport Speedway, located just 80 miles from home.

After a tough pill draw placed him deep in the field for his heat race, Horn rallied from sixth-to-third, then capped the night with a solid ninth-place finish in the feature.

At 34 Raceway on Saturday, Horn backed up another third-place heat race effort with a thrilling charge in the main event. Starting ninth, he surged to the lead on lap 17 and never looked back, securing his second win of the 2025 season.

The tripleheader wrapped up Sunday at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway, where Horn rounded out the weekend with a seventh-place finish in the finale.

Horn is preparing for a Memorial Day weekend tripleheader as he follows the Malvern Bank East Series across his home state of Iowa. The team was originally scheduled to open the busy slate on Thursday at Fayette County Speedway, but inclement weather forced the event’s cancellation. Horn’s updated weekend schedule is listed below.
