Jimmy Owens survives Tazewell Speedway for runner-up finish with Spring Nationals
Staying in his home state of Tennessee for the weekend, Jimmy Owens followed the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals to I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the first of two nights with the series.
With 40 Late Models signed in, Owens picked up the final transfer spot in his heat race and recorded a 18th-place finish in the 53-lap, $10,053-to-win finale.
With $21,000 on the table Saturday evening, Jimmy once again finished fourth in his heat race and started 13th in the 75-lap main event at Tazewell (Tenn,) Speedway. Owens weathered a tough and fast racetrack to land on the podium in second. He ran runner-up to Tyler Erb while Branodn Overton completed the Top-3.
