PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY SET FOR REGULAR SEASON OPENING DAY PRESENTED BY PACKERS CONCESSIONS
PORT ROYAL, PA – (March 17, 2025) – After an early season weather setback and an exciting weekend of modified racing action, Port Royal Speedway is ready to officially drop the green flag on the 2025 regular season with a highly anticipated Opening Day makeup event on Saturday, March 22nd.
Headlining the program will be the Weikert's Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, battling for a $6,000 winner’s payday, as a part of a nearly $26,000 A-main purse, along with the Penske Racing Shocks Super Late Models, competing for a $4,000 top prize. This action-packed night of racing is presented by Packer’s Concessions.
Race fans can expect a thrilling night of competition as some of the best drivers in the area make their first marks on the Speed Palace in 2025. The Weikert's Livestock 410 Sprint Cars are set to bring high-speed action, while the always-exciting Super Late Models showcase their power and precision on the Port Royal clay.
Fans will have their first opportunity to win some great prizes at the track. They can register with track chaplain Doug Mellott in the Fan Zone behind the commercial building. This week's prizes include entering a raffle for an Instant Pot and enter in the monthly raffle for a 40'' smart TV! Fans have until hot laps get started and the winner of the Instant Pot will be announced during hot laps. The winner of the TV will be announced at the end of the month. Fan does not have to be present to claim the TV but does have to be present to register.
Chaplain Doug will also be making his way through the stands and infield doing trivia with great prizes up for grabs which includes a single burner grill and more!
Jr. Fan of the Night returns for another week at The Speed Palace where kids and teens 17 and under can enter for a chance to be awarded the title of Jr. Fan of the Night. This includes the opportunity to ride in the pace truck, a die cast race car hauler courtesy of Port Royal Speedway, wave a green flag for a heat race, get a free hot dog and drink from Packer's Concessions, and receive a $10 voucher for food from concessions courtesy of Juniata Med Trans. The fan will also get their opportunities photographed and can receive all the photos courtesy of WRT Speedwerx at next week's race.
Pit gates will open at 1:00 PM, general admission gates at 2:00PM and hot laps set to begin at 3:00 PM.
Ticket pricing is as follows: General admission - $20, Student (ages 13-17) - $10, Ages 12 and under - free, Pits - $35
