Mack McCarter competes in Showdown on the Coast ahead of 604 Nationals

In preparation for the $100,000-to-win 604 Nationals next weekend, Mack McCarter took in some laps at Golden Isles Speedway (Waynesville, Ga.) over the weekend during the $20,000-to-win Showdown on the Coast.

Laying down the ninth-quickest lap in his qualifying group, Mack made up two spots in his heat race to finish third and earned a fifth-row starting spot in Saturday's main event. During the 50 lapper, McCarter was racing inside the Top-10 before contact with another competitor sent him spinning. Mack eventually pulled off and recorded a 16th-place finish.
